Dick’s Last Resort

Our time in Dallas is almost up, we are off to Natchitoches tomorrow.  Quickly, to explain the title, Rach and I saw the two following places together and had a chuckle:

Our time spent in Dallas:  we went to the JFK memorial museum – including seeing where the “alleged” assassination shot came from.  We ventured east through some more “interesting” area’s into Deep Ellum.  This is a grungy kind of place which looks like it’s straight out of a film from the 70’s in Harlem.  The streets were fairly empty but it was evident that it was a hot spot for night clubs and bars later in the evening.  Deep Ellum does however have a brewery, Brain Dead Brewery.  Rach and I had a few beers/ciders – i had a pumpkin ale (10% alc) whilst Rach had Crackberry Cider which the waiter nicknamed a glass of crack.  Dallas CBD is not a huge place and there isn’t a large amount of things to do so we decided to walk to everything, eventually racking up a good 15-20km a day.

Off to pick up the car tomorrow and head off the a B&B on our way to New Orleans.  Weather is super warm, sun is extra hot here in Texas.

Enough talking, here are the pictures:
